Rabbi Steve Karro was born in Russia and raised in Jerusalem, surrounded by Jewish history and tradition. From an early age, he developed a deep love for faith and learning. As a teenager, he dedicated himself to intensive yeshiva study. Those years shaped his character, his values, and his lifelong commitment to service.
A significant part of his life has been devoted to preserving sacred Jewish traditions. He restores ancient Torah scrolls, writes new ones, and creates mezuzot and tefillin. This work requires patience, precision, and deep respect for the texts involved. For Rabbi Steve Karro, sacred writing is more than a craft—it is a way to connect past, present, and future generations.
His artistic interests extend beyond sacred writing. He is also an oil painter, inspired by faith, history, and the human experience. Teaching has always been central to his journey. He believes that knowledge has its greatest value when shared. Whether discussing religious teachings, working with sacred texts, or sharing his knowledge of Judaica and art, he approaches education as both a responsibility and an opportunity.
At the heart of his philosophy is a simple principle: consider what is right and strive to leave the world a little better than you found it. He believes kindness, integrity, perseverance, and compassion are qualities that must be practiced every day. Today, Rabbi Steve Karro remains committed to preserving Jewish heritage, sharing knowledge, creating meaningful art, and serving others. This blog is an extension of that mission—a place where you can learn, reflect, and grow.
